Spoleto Art s Festival in Charleston
The Spoleto Art Festival and Piccolo Spoleto Festival will be held in Charleston during May and June. Does anyone have any plans to come to Chaharleston for these events?
Painting at Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant, SC
I enjoyed painting at Christ Church and decided to leave the few sand gnats that became embedded in the oil painting for intrest and authenticity.

Judith Carducci Portrait Workshop in Charleston April 2007
I enjoyed learning from this accomplished artist during a 3 day workshop. The photo above shows Judith painting her model in a classroom at the St. Mathews Luthearn Church Parish Hall in Historic Downtown Charleston. The morning light was dazzling streaming through the 3 huge stained glass windows . The room was ideal for painting with a high ceiling and a wall of north light windows. Many of the workshop artists wanted to include the beautiful lcolored light from the windows in their paintings.
The Charleston Outdoor Painters Association (COPA) Paint out in the Archdale St. Area
I joined my fellow artists today in the historic Archdale St. area of downtown Chas. Although I was unable to paint because of a recent cortisone injection in my hand, I enjoyed the sunny afternoon sharing comments and insights. Pictured above is Robin B. a COPA artist painting in the Unitarian Churchyard. I'm looking forward to my hand healing soon so I too can paint in this beautiful location.
The beach at Sullivan"s Island looking into Charleston Harbour.
Today I was at a popular area on Sullivan's Island, a small barrier Island near Charleston. The location in this picture is a great spot to watch dolphins feeding and to see a large variety of sea birds. Brown pelicans, terns, laughing gulls, and sandpipers were just a few of the many birds I saw today .
Bohicket Road Oaks, John"s Island, SC
I'm working on a commisioned painting of the oaks lining Bohicket Road. I'm trying to capture the beauty of the rich green canopy of branches and spanish moss over this road that leads out to Seabrook and Kiawah Island. I think I'll have to wait a little longer until the oak trees stop shedding their leaves to be able to get the effect my client wants. The pollen from the trees was blowing around in clouds off the road . It's been dry lately and we need a soaking rainfall to wash the pollen away.
